NHAI Launches Pilot for Real-Time Stray Cattle Safety Alert on National Highways
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), in collaboration with telecom service providers, has initiated a pilot program to provide real-time safety alerts to drivers on national highways to prevent accidents due to stray cattle. The test is currently running on the Jaipur–Agra and Jaipur–Rewari corridors. Alerts will notify drivers 10 km before high-risk zones using Flash SMS and voice alerts in Hindi. The initiative, which aims to increase road safety especially during low-visibility conditions, leverages technology to map cattle-prone zones and deliver timely advisories through an upgraded telecom infrastructure supported by Reliance Jio.
