NHPC Constructs Eight New Hydropower Projects with 8514 MW Capacity
The Ministry of Power announced that NHPC Limited, alongside its joint ventures and subsidiary companies, is currently constructing eight hydropower projects with a combined capacity of 8,514 MW. This development follows the commissioning of 23 hydropower projects by NHPC as of October 2025, which have a total installed capacity of 7,771 MW. These new projects are expected to significantly boost local employment and entrepreneurship, benefiting project-affected families and the surrounding communities. Additionally, a Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) is in place for addressing any grievances related to the projects.
