The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India has taken notice of unclaimed dead bodies piling up in the mortuary of Raipur District Hospital, Chhattisgarh, due to lack of space for last rites. The NHRC emphasized the need for dignity in handling the deceased and has requested a detailed report from the Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh within two weeks.
