NHRC India Hosts Sri Lankan Officers for Capacity Building

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India hosted 40 senior civil servants from Sri Lanka as part of a capacity-building initiative by the National Centre for Good Governance, under the ITEC programme of the Ministry of External Affairs. The visit aimed at enhancing governance knowledge and strengthening ties between the countries through shared human rights and governance insights. NHRC Chairperson, Justice V. Ramasubramanian, highlighted the vital role of civil servants as intermediaries between the legislature and judiciary. Secretary General Shri Bharat Lal emphasized the ethical foundations of governance in India, stressing empathy and compassion, and noted the significance of strong institutions and the fight against corruption.
