NHRC Investigates Building Collapse in Uttar Pradesh
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India, has taken suo motu cognizance of a media report about the tragic collapse of an illegal, under-construction building in Nagla Hukum Singh village, Jevar, Gautam Budh Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh, on November 19, 2025. The incident resulted in the deaths of four construction workers, injuries to several others, and one worker reported missing. The NHRC has ordered a detailed report from local authorities to ascertain compensation for the victims' families and assess the health status of the injured.
