NHRC Investigates Death of 5-Year-Old Student in Jharkhand
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India has taken suo motu cognizance of the death of a 5-year-old student at a residential school in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, allegedly due to severe beating by a teacher. The NHRC has issued notices to the Chief Secretary and Superintendent of Police of Hazaribagh, demanding a detailed report within two weeks. The incident reportedly occurred when the child refused to eat, and both the teacher and school manager are currently absconding.
