NHRC Investigates Death of Gang Rape Victim in Ghaziabad

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India has taken suo motu cognizance of the death of a speech and hearing impaired gang rape victim in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The victim was found dead on August 21, 2025, after being gang-raped on August 18. The NHRC has issued notices to the DGP of Uttar Pradesh and the District Magistrate of Ghaziabad for a detailed report on the investigation and any compensation for the victim's family, expected within two weeks.
