NHRC Investigates Death of Minor Rape Victim in Bihar
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India has taken cognizance of the death of a nine-year-old girl who was a victim of rape and physical assault. The girl died at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) after allegedly being left waiting in an ambulance for hours before receiving treatment. The NHRC has issued notices to Bihar's Chief Secretary and Director General of Police, demanding a detailed report within two weeks. The case raises serious human rights concerns, especially as the same perpetrator was previously involved in another assault on a minor.
