The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India has taken notice of a disturbing incident where a stray dog was reported carrying the severed head of an infant near the Government Rajindra Hospital in Patiala, Punjab. The NHRC has issued notices to the Chief Secretary and Senior Superintendent of Police of Patiala, demanding reports within two weeks. Allegations of poor sanitation and security at the hospital have also been raised by patient attendants. The Medical Superintendent stated that no infants are missing from the hospital, suggesting the remains may have been discarded by someone outside the premises.
