NHRC Takes Action on Assault of Journalists in Madhya Pradesh

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India has taken suo motu cognizance of the reported assault of two journalists by police in Bhind district, Madhya Pradesh. The NHRC has issued a notice to the Director General of Police, Madhya Pradesh, demanding a detailed report within two weeks. The incident, which allegedly occurred under the supervision of the District Superintendent of Police, raises serious concerns regarding human rights violations.
