The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India has initiated an investigation following reports of nineteen female students contracting tuberculosis due to poor living conditions at the MGMSC Nursing College Hostel in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Allegations of overcrowded and unsanitary conditions have prompted the NHRC to demand a comprehensive report from the Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary within two weeks.
