NHRC's Online Internship Programme Aims to Build Empathy and Human Rights Awareness
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India, recently concluded the second two-week Online Short-Term Internship (OSTI) Programme for the year 2026. Seventy-one university-level students from diverse backgrounds across India participated, out of 1,147 applicants. Chairperson Justice V. Ramasubramanian emphasized the importance of empathy and human rights understanding, encouraging interns to pursue these values actively. Secretary General Shri Bharat Lal stressed the shared responsibility of promoting human rights, highlighting the need to support vulnerable populations. The programme seeks to reach students in remote areas, offering learning and engagement opportunities in human rights.
