Novel Method for Synthesizing Nano-Cups for Cancer Treatment
Researchers have developed a one-step colloidal synthesis method for nanoparticles with a unique nano-cup morphology, partially covered with polyethylene glycol (PEG), to enhance photothermal therapy (PTT) for cancer treatment. This innovative approach simplifies the fabrication process, eliminates the need for harsh chemicals, and improves the stability and efficacy of the nanoparticles. The PEGylated semi-shells have shown promising results in destroying metastatic breast tumors in preclinical models, indicating potential for advanced cancer therapies.
