Oilseed Cultivation and Production on the Rise in India

The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare has reported a significant rise in oilseed cultivation in India, with production increasing to 429.89 lakh tonnes for the 2024-25 period. This growth, supported by initiatives such as the National Mission on Edible Oils – Oilseeds, aims to make the country self-reliant in edible oils while ensuring fair prices for farmers through Minimum Support Prices and import tariffs.
