Over 31.38 Crore Unorganized Workers Registered on e-Shram Portal
The Ministry of Labour and Employment in India has registered over 31.38 crore unorganized workers on the e-Shram portal, as of November 2025. Launched on August 26, 2021, the portal aims to create a comprehensive National Database of Unorganized Workers (NDUW) linked with Aadhaar. The e-Shram portal serves as a 'One-Stop-Solution' for unorganized workers to access various social security schemes, integrating fourteen schemes from different Central Ministries including PMSVANidhi, PMSBY, PMJJBY, and more. The initiative enhances social security for unorganized and migrant workers, and aligns with the Occupational Safety, Health, and Working Conditions (OSH) Code that subsumes the Inter-State Migrant Workmen Act, 1979.
