Over 31 Crore Unorganised Workers Registered on e-Shram Portal

The Ministry of Labour & Employment of India has registered over 31.38 crore unorganised workers and more than 5 lakh gig and platform workers on the e-Shram portal, launched in August 2021. This initiative aims to integrate various welfare schemes to enhance social security and access to benefits for the workers. The scheme now includes benefits such as health care through Ayushman Bharat and other welfare schemes. Additionally, the government is focusing on employment generation, supporting skill development through initiatives like the Skill India Mission, and ensuring worker rights and security through new labor codes.
