The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) provides social security to employees in factories with 10 or more workers, covering those earning up to ₹21,000 per month (₹25,000 for disabled individuals). The last wage ceiling revision was in 2017. A total of 166 ESI hospitals operate across various states and Union Territories in India, with 61 run by ESIC and 105 by state governments. This information was shared by the Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, in a Lok Sabha session.
