Overview of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in India

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) oversees 14,615 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in India, comprising 3,316 government and 11,299 private institutions. The Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) is implemented through these ITIs, which are managed by state governments while the central government sets policies for affiliation and curriculum. In the last five years, 433 new ITIs were established. Continuous quality improvement is emphasized through regular curriculum updates and inspections to ensure compliance with standards.
