Overview of NEMMP and FAME Schemes

The National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP) 2020 aims to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in India. The Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles in India (FAME India) Scheme was launched in 2015 to support this initiative. FAME-I (2015-2019) supported over 255,000 EVs and established 520 charging stations. FAME-II (2019-2024) has supported over 1.6 million EVs and sanctioned ₹912.50 crore for charging infrastructure, promoting a sustainable xEV industry across the country.
