The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) is implementing the Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY), which includes various schemes aimed at enhancing food processing infrastructure. Key components include the Integrated Cold Chain and Value Addition Infrastructure scheme, which has sanctioned 66 cold chain projects in the last three years, and the discontinued Mega Food Parks scheme. The PMKSY aims to reduce post-harvest losses, improve farmers' income, and enhance food processing capabilities, benefiting over 3.4 million farmers. The schemes provide financial assistance for infrastructure development and have shown significant reductions in wastage in sectors like fruits, vegetables, dairy, and fisheries.
