The 2025 paddy harvesting season ended with a significant decline in farm fire incidents in Punjab and Haryana, attributed to the effective implementation of State-specific Action Plans and stricter enforcement measures by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM). Punjab and Haryana recorded their lowest farm fire incidents, with substantial reductions from previous years as a result of comprehensive crop residue management strategies. This effort is expected to result in sustained air quality improvements in the coming years.
