PLFS Monthly Bulletin Summary - June 2025

The Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) for June 2025 indicates a slight decline in the Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR) to 54.2% from 54.8% in May 2025. Rural LFPR is at 56.1%, while urban LFPR is at 50.4%. The Worker Population Ratio (WPR) also decreased to 51.2% from 51.7%. The unemployment rate remains stable at 5.6%. The decline in participation is attributed to seasonal agricultural patterns and a shift of unpaid helpers to domestic chores, particularly among rural females. The share of rural female workers in agriculture has decreased, reflecting changing economic conditions.
