PLI Scheme Boosts Auto Sector Localization

The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for the automobile sector is advancing localization with 18 applicants achieving Domestic Value Addition (DVA) certificates for 131 AAT products as of mid-December 2025. The PLI-Auto initiative, with an investment of ₹25,938 crore, focuses on establishing a robust domestic supply chain and encouraging involvement of SMEs to benefit from the expanding automotive ecosystem. The program's progress was shared in the Rajya Sabha by Minister of State for Heavy Industries, Shri Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma.
