PLISFPI Scheme Supports MSMEs in Food Processing Industry

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries has reported that there are no operational challenges faced by the approved units under the Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Food Processing Industries (PLISFPI). The scheme encourages participation from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), with 69 applicants and 40 contract manufacturers already part of the scheme. Advanced technologies are being used to expand production, resulting in the generation of approximately 3.39 lakh jobs and establishing a food processing capacity of 35 lakh MT annually. The scheme also supports micro enterprises under initiatives like PMFME and PMKSY.
