PM E-DRIVE Scheme Boosts Electric Vehicle Adoption Across India

The PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Scheme, initiated by India's Ministry of Heavy Industries, has significantly increased electric vehicle adoption by providing demand incentives for various EV segments. The scheme supports nearly 28 lakh EVs with incentives contributed to reducing upfront costs for consumers, while 22.12 lakh EVs, including e-two wheelers and e-three wheelers, have been sold as of January 2026. There is a substantial allocation for electric buses and charging infrastructure, reinforcing the EV ecosystem nationwide.
