PM e-DRIVE Scheme Launched to Boost Electric Vehicle Adoption in India

The PM e-DRIVE Scheme aims to promote electric and hybrid vehicle adoption in India through market creation, demand aggregation, and support for domestic technology and manufacturing. An allocation of Rs.4,391 crore is designated for deploying 14,028 e-buses in major cities, while Rs.2,000 crore is allocated for public charging infrastructure. The initiative seeks to reduce emissions and fossil fuel dependency, fostering a self-sustaining EV industry across the country.
