Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a ₹10-crore Sex Sorted Semen facility in Purnea, Bihar, under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission. The facility, utilizing indigenous 'Gausort' technology, aims to enhance the dairy sector in Eastern and North-Eastern India by producing 5 lakh doses of semen annually. This technology increases the likelihood of female calf births, benefiting small and marginal farmers by reducing economic burdens and increasing income through more replacement heifers.
