PM Modi's Aerial Survey and Assistance for Flood-Affected Punjab

On September 9, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected areas in Punjab, assessing damage caused by heavy rains and cloudbursts. He announced a financial assistance package of Rs. 1600 crore, in addition to Rs. 12,000 crore already allocated. The PM expressed condolences to affected families, offering Rs. 2 lakh ex-gratia for deceased kin and Rs. 50,000 for the injured. Comprehensive support for orphaned children under the PM CARES for Children scheme was also announced, alongside plans for infrastructure restoration and agricultural support.
