PMFME Scheme Catalyzes Micro Food Processing Enterprises

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries is driving the PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme, aimed at enhancing the competitiveness and formalization of micro-enterprises. The scheme endorses the One District One Product (ODOP) approach to promote local foods and employs financial, technical, and business support measures to bolster micro food processing enterprises. Key initiatives include credit-linked subsidies, seed capital for SHGs, and shared infrastructure, promoting rural economic growth and food security. As of October 2025, the scheme has reached over 1.6 lakh micro enterprises, 1363 SHGs, and 236 FPOs.
