PMKSY Expands Support for Food Processing Infrastructure

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries is enhancing the Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY) to boost food processing infrastructure across India. An additional outlay of ₹1,000 crore has been approved, focusing on 50 Food Irradiation Units and 100 Food Testing Laboratories. While PMKSY has benefitted over 36 lakh farmers and generated significant employment, regions like Jharkhand and Odisha have seen limited recent project approvals.
