PMKSY Extends Special Benefits to FPOs
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY), a central sector scheme in India, now invites applications through an Expression of Interest (EoI) process, welcoming Farmers Producing Organisation (FPOs) from across the country, including specific districts in Jharkhand. FPOs benefit from a 50% grant-in-aid for eligible project costs compared to 35% for general areas, and a remarkable 70% aid under the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Infrastructure scheme. Furthermore, FPOs enjoy lower equity, credit, and net-worth requirements compared to general applicants. These enhancements aim to support and empower FPOs as relayed by Minister Ravneet Singh in the Lok Sabha.
