Policy Reforms to Enhance Research and Innovation in India
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh announced significant policy reforms aimed at improving the 'Ease of Innovation', 'Ease of Research', and 'Ease of Science' in India. The reforms allow research institutions to bypass Government e-Marketplace (GeM) procurement for specialized equipment, grant greater autonomy to institutional heads, and raise financial ceilings for research procurement. These changes are expected to streamline research processes, reduce delays, and foster a more innovation-driven economy, aligning with the National Education Policy 2020.
