The Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Shri Durgadas Uikey, provided details on the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Tribe (ST) students in Rajya Sabha. Over the last five academic years, the number of beneficiaries has varied, with a peak of 23.44 lakhs in 2021-22. The scheme, which is centrally sponsored, aims to support students from class XI to post-graduation. Efforts are being made to increase awareness and participation through various campaigns. Budget allocations and actual expenditures for the scheme from 2020-21 to 2024-25 were also discussed, highlighting the financial commitment to support ST students' education.
