Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana Achieves 100% Electrification

The Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana, launched in October 2017, attained its goal of electrifying all willing un-electrified households in both rural and urban areas by March 2019. With the scheme's completion, 286 lakh households have been connected to the electricity grid, amounting to effective universal household electrification across India. Concurrently, the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme aims to enhance quality and reliability in power supply through infrastructural improvements and smart metering, also focusing on tribal and border areas via dedicated electrification projects.
