Prasar Bharati Boosts Regional Broadcasting with National Upgradation
Prasar Bharati is enhancing its regional language broadcasting through Doordarshan and Akashvani networks, under the BIND scheme with a budget of ₹2,539.61 crore. This modernization involves upgrading production and broadcasting facilities. Currently, Doordarshan runs 28 regional channels and Akashvani covers 23 languages along with 182 dialects across 112 regional stations. The initiative aims to align with technological advancements and public service goals by hiring staff as per new functional requirements.
