President Approves Gallantry Awards on Independence Day 2025

On the eve of India's 79th Independence Day, President Smt Droupadi Murmu has approved a total of 127 Gallantry awards and 40 Distinguished Service awards for personnel in the Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces. The awards include 4 Kirti Chakras, 15 Vir Chakras, and 16 Shaurya Chakras among others. Additionally, 290 Mention-in-Despatches were also approved, recognizing the contributions of 115 Army personnel, 5 Navy personnel, and 167 Air Force personnel.
