President Droupadi Murmu of India made a historic visit to Botswana, marking the first-ever Presidential visit from India. During her visit, she held bilateral talks with President Duma Gideon Boko, focusing on enhancing cooperation in various sectors such as trade, agriculture, and renewable energy. The leaders also discussed wildlife conservation, with Botswana agreeing to send Cheetahs to India as part of 'Project Cheetah'. An agreement was signed to improve access to affordable Indian medicines in Botswana, further strengthening bilateral ties ahead of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026.
