Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Upcoming Visit to Assam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Assam on January 17-18, 2026. During his visit, he will engage in significant cultural and infrastructural activities. On January 17, Modi will attend 'Bagurumba Dwhou 2026', a cultural event in Guwahati celebrating the Bodo community's heritage, where over 10,000 artists will perform the Bagurumba dance. On January 18, he will conduct the Bhoomi Pujan for the Kaziranga Elevated Corridor Project, aimed at improving connectivity while protecting wildlife. This project, worth over ₹6,950 Crore, is part of a broader initiative to reduce human-wildlife conflicts and enhance travel safety in the region. Additionally, Modi will inaugurate two new Amrit Bharat Express trains connecting Guwahati to Rohtak and Dibrugarh to Lucknow, strengthening regional rail connectivity.
