Prime Minister to Inaugurate Emergency Landing Facility on Highway Near Moran

The Ministry of Defence announced the inauguration of an Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) on the Moran bypass in Assam's Dibrugarh district on February 14, 2026. This is the first such facility in Northeast India and will serve as an alternative runway for emergency landings and takeoffs by military and humanitarian aid aircraft. The Prime Minister of India, along with the Governor and Chief Minister of Assam, will attend the event.
