Progress and Goals of Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen Phase II

The Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) Phase II is in execution from 2020-21 through 2026-27, emphasizing Open Defecation Free (ODF) sustainability and solid and liquid waste management across villages. Aimed at transforming villages into ODF Plus Model villages, this phase uses Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) for community engagement and behavior change toward sanitation practices. The program allows for up to 2% of funds at the central level and 3% at the state level for IEC and capacity building. The Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Shri V. Somanna, provided these insights in a written address to the Lok Sabha.
