Progress of Jal Jeevan Mission and Atal Bhujal Yojana

As of August 2025, the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) has successfully provided tap water connections to over 15.68 Crore rural households in India, representing 81% of the total rural households. The mission aims to ensure potable water supply to every rural household. Additionally, the Atal Bhujal Yojana (ABY) focuses on sustainable groundwater management in water-stressed areas, with significant improvements in groundwater levels reported in 83 out of 229 identified blocks across several states.
