Progress of Regional Driving Training Centres (RDTCs)

The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has implemented a scheme to establish Regional Driving Training Centres (RDTCs) across States/UTs to enhance road safety and promote good driving habits. As of July 2025, 17 RDTCs have been sanctioned, with additional proposals approved. The initiative aims to improve driving skills, facilitate the issuance of driving licenses, and generate employment in the transport sector. The program is monitored by the Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT) and is part of the ongoing 15th Finance Commission period.
