Progress of Summer Crop Coverage in India as of May 2025

As of May 30, 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare reported significant increases in the area sown for summer crops compared to the previous year. Total area coverage reached 83.93 lakh hectares, up from 74.72 lakh hectares in 2024, marking an increase of 9.21 lakh hectares. Key crops such as rice, pulses, and oilseeds showed notable growth, with rice area sown increasing by 4.80 lakh hectares and pulses by 2.77 lakh hectares.
