Progress on Textiles Processing Projects Under IPDS

The Ministry of Textiles in India is focusing on making the Indian Textile Industry globally competitive by using environmentally friendly processing technologies. Under the Integrated Processing Development Scheme (IPDS), launched during the 12th Five Year Plan, the ministry aimed to support the establishment and upgrading of Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) and processing parks. Although the scheme was actively implemented until 2021, it continues to fulfil previously committed liabilities. Technologies such as Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) and Multi Effect Evaporator (MEE) are being implemented to address pollution and aid in water recovery. The total project cost for approved projects in this scheme amounts to ₹701.56 crore with a government grant of ₹214.70 crore released.
