Progress Report on Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin as of June 2026

The Ministry of Rural Development reports significant progress in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) with a total of 33.54 lakh houses sanctioned and 35.54 lakh houses completed by June 2026. Jharkhand saw 1.48 lakh houses sanctioned and 0.68 lakh completed. Nationwide, 4.18 crore houses are targeted under PMAY-G, with 3.92 crore sanctioned and 3.11 crore completed. Key challenges include beneficiary unwillingness and construction delays due to various administrative issues. PMAY-G also includes provisions for additional support services, such as water and electricity supply.
