Progress Update on NPCDCS by Ministry of Health
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported significant progress under the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD). Over 38.9 crore individuals have been screened for hypertension, with 5.13 crore diagnosed and 4.74 crore receiving treatment. Additionally, 32.8 crore individuals were screened for oral cancer, with 94% of diagnosed cases under treatment. The government plans to establish 200 Day Care Cancer Centres in FY 2025-26 as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen cancer care facilities across India.
