Promotion of Climate-Resilient and Sustainable Farming Practices

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has launched the National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) project to study climate change impacts on agriculture and promote resilient technologies. The government is also implementing various schemes like the Sub Mission on Seeds and Planting Materials (SMSP) and the National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA) to enhance agricultural resilience. Additionally, organic farming is being promoted through the Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) and Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER).
