Promotion of Electric Vehicle Manufacturing in India

The Ministry of Heavy Industries reports on the progress of the FAME-II Scheme, which incentivizes electric vehicle manufacturing and infrastructure development in India. As of June 30, 2025, over 1.4 million two-wheelers, 165,000 three-wheelers, and 22,000 four-wheelers have been supported, along with the deployment of 5,165 e-buses and installation of 8,885 public charging stations. The scheme also includes initiatives to boost domestic manufacturing and attract private investment in battery production through the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.
