Promotion of Goat Farming in India

The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying has clarified that there is no program called Rashtriya Pashudhan Abhiyan for goat farming. Instead, the National Livestock Mission offers a 50% capital subsidy for establishing goat breeding farms. The initiative also supports other livestock and feed units. In Chandrapur district, five goat farming projects have been approved, with a total cost of ₹3.08 crore and a sanctioned subsidy of ₹1.39 crore. However, delays in project completion and loan disbursement have been noted. The release of subsidies is contingent on compliance and fund availability, with no set time limit for disbursement.
