Purchase of Intermediate Rolls and Work Rolls by BSL

The Ministry of Steel announced that the steel sector is deregulated, allowing companies to make independent operational decisions. Rolls are procured by the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) through a three-year cycle via the Centralized Procurement Agency (CPA), based on production plans and consumption patterns. SAIL conducts audits to review stock positions and consumption, taking actions based on recommendations. This information was provided by Minister of State for Steel & Heavy Industries, Shri Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, in a Lok Sabha reply.
